My Tribe

We all are accused of being too critical of our politicians, policies and our practices... however when we try to see ourselves from a detached (read less sentimental) point of view we will see one trait very consistent in our characters, which makes us move, take actions( or in some cases not to take actions at all),and that trait is being blinded by the sentiment of loyalty in our every day dealings.

We will raise our voice to define our affiliations and our loyalty than for a cause for right or wrong... we are loyal to the one we can relate to, or who is from our own club, village, brotherhood, cast , party or country, tribe, province etc... our loyalties put blinders on our ability to see right from wrong, legal or illegal.... we have to support the one we identify with ...Me And mine is the nucleus of our thinking, and we as a Nation still have to accept the rule of law yet ... (and unfortunately this behaviour is not limited to the only "Real tribes " where this is a survival tactic too,)but for the rest of us "civilized ones"we also have to learn that rule of law is beyond any friendships or relations , to think out of our clan mentality, and keeping our emotions, loyalties aside when it comes to a point when someone among us makes a mistake... we start chest thumping and name calling to intimidate anyone who ever raises a finger to my brother, friend or Peer sahib, or Wadayra,a hero in my eyes...
Our exaggerated pride is more important than our being fair...
We forget that best friend is the one who makes us realize of our mistakes... It's been years we repeatedly see these behaviouras in different scenarios...

Take, Afia Siddique case... , she got in legal trouble after 9/11 , when She was in a foreign country with full freedom, and fully aware of laws there..., and as she was fully aware of her rights then she sould be able to face the consequences of her actions, and if innocent She will get out free...but here it seems that it became our religious duty to demand for her release, because of her attire and a battle between Islam and America...,and (Pakistanis as the only defenders of Islam)...Our Government is paying million of dollars to fight for her trial, because Islamist parties putting pressure on Govt to do so, (and Once you bring Religion in to the talks no body can win in here) as if She is the only one who is in any legal trouble in a foreign land?...We have thousands of Pakistanis who are in more serious trouble than Dr Afia Siddiqiue and they got caught in ignorance too...unlike her they were not trying to preach in a secular society and looking for work visa at the same time either, .. Every country have its law and order demands, once you are there you have to obey by them... will govt be able to pay for all law breakers in the world? or this offer is limited to scarf wearing extremist only?) and since they are on her side so she can not be wrong.. and we have to stick to our clan again!

I am going to commit this "Un forgivable sin" by stating ,( with due respect) why should we protect Dr Q Khan ? (what he did for our country was great! and it was the demand of time, but was that legal or not, he should be able to convince that to the parties involved... he seems to declare a lot of sensitive information in interviews without thinking about the consequences and and at the end Pakistan Government have to tackle the issues raised by his actions, just because we can't imagine that our hero is also a human too.

<;strong>Ch Naeem scenario, a Lawyer by profession, got caught in a legal case when, his 13 years old maid died, He must be well equipped more than any average citizens to his rights and law ..., now it should have been the issue for him and his family... but lawyers Clan came to rescue....trying to stop media coverage of this news followup... or his remand to be avoided and protesting against the FIR... what is this behaviour... when he is just an accused, he and family should get treated like innocent, at the same time him or any one else in the similar scenario should be able to cooperate with law , and it is not too much to demand from a Lawyer, however his fellow professional made it in to an option to display their unity ,by announcing strike on 27Th January and considered this an attack on their "Community ",if he have to face the law as a common man.

Then most interesting and talked about situation is Mr Zardari and NRO., He may be exempt or not... but his allies are definitely out there to protect him before any court forces him to be answerable to law for his actions ... and for some party members it is an issue of an inflated ego more than law...we may like to overlook his case to avoid turmoil in an infant democracy... however ignoring one person's accusations will give hundreds of other wrong doers a shelter like NRO again ...but as we know,...... for us loyalty is important than a fair system ....Individual is more important to us than ideologies and as most will say..." Yehan Aisa hi hota hay".

It is Quiet...

Last 24, or less hours we are enjoying it while it lasts.
After last night's NRO decision our political scene went quiet from open argumentative mode to a pause.
AND It is Quiet ,almost like quiet before the storm... or right after when it already happened...
....To be honest what ever reason this silence is here, it is relieving,.....after So many days of constant bravado speeches and aggressive campaign like presence of our political figures in media and in and around town, it was getting too much.

Power of suggestion may be possible but no body can deny the power of truth either... actions always speak louder than words.
Some how these simple common sense tips still can't to reach our leaders .
